Background

Deb Doyle – Principal

“What we do isn’t hard, but few people do it well.” – Roger Lewis

There are thinkers and there are doers. Rarely, there are people who do both.

Deb’s career showcases her ability to balance the development of strategic insights with the practical realities of bringing those ideas to life.

She spent most of her professional life in Vice President-level roles at advertising agencies – from international powerhouses like McCann Erickson and Publicis & Hal Riney to respected regional shops like Sedgwick Rd., Hoffman Lewis and “the West’s Best Selling Agency,” Davis Ball & Colombatto. In each case, she began improving her client’s business almost as soon as she arrived on the scene.

Specializing in consolidating, commoditizing industries, Deb helped identify the critical “only we could say that” insights about her clients’ brands and brought those insights to life in ways that resulted in consistent, measurable successes.

Under her guidance, Sprint PCS maintained its market share despite massive consolidation and a competitive spending explosion. Marshall Field’s used a semi-annual sale to indulge everyone’s “inner fashionista” resulting in record weekend sales. Her McDonald’s and Arby’s markets enjoyed 10 years of year over year sales and profit gains. Not only were two of her early promotion events adopted for national use by the respective chains, they continue to be used today.

Along the way, the advertising won more than 15 marketing and creative awards including a Silver D&AD.

As a client for McDonald’s and Arby’s Restaurants, she served as regional CMO. Responsibilities included strategic development, advertising leadership, public relations, agency liaison, budgeting, training and franchisee relations. She conducted numerous agency searches to ensure the right partners were in place.

Deb is an active member of the Academy of Friends, the largest grant-making organization for Bay Area AIDS/HIV charities and Taproot, a non-profit organization that improves the marketing/advertising infrastructure of other non-profit agencies by marshalling teams of business professionals.

If she’s not following the trail of the customer for her clients, you will likely find Deb riding her show-jumping Appaloosa, knitting a new design or cooking for family and friends.

She graduated with honors from The Pennsylvania State University with a BA in English literature.
